How does The Miracle of Essiac work?

The secret is the synergistic blend of various herbs. It has been known for generations that in Europe, Sheep Sorrel has been used to break down tumors, Slippery Elm has been used to regulate the digestive tract and Watercress has been an effective general tonic, abundant in Vitamin C. The Burdock Root is a powerful blood purifier and treatment for swelling and fever. Red Clover is a rich source of isoflavens, which have been studied for their effectiveness in treating some forms of cancer. Turkish Rhubarb Root helps to cleanse the liver and detoxify the colon and Blessed Thistle is most effective in relieving liver congestion. Kelp is a rich source of minerals including iodine to maintain a healthy thyroid, effective metabolism and boost our immune system.

How long will it take before I notice a change once I start taking The Miracle of Essiac?

We would recommend a gradual regimen, which can take from three months to six months.  It all depends on the individual.  This depends on the amount of your exposure to toxins, including chemicals, pollution and diet.  Your personal ability to purge toxins is also another factor.  This three/six month window is based on the maintenance level of two ounces of Essiac taken twice per day.

Those seeking a shorter two to four week detoxification plan will require nine to eighteen ounces of Essiac tea per day.

Are there any side effects?

During the first month or so of taking Essiac, you may experience reactions such as, mild diarrhea, and a runny nose (mucous drainage).

The reactions you feel are the toxins being eliminated from your body.  As you eliminate these toxins, these side effects will diminish and simply fade away.

If you cannot tolerate these reactions, you can “flush your body” with a half gallon to one gallon of water per day.  You may also reduce your daily dosage down to one ounce, twice per day or even one once per day in total.

Can I take The Miracle of Essiac if I have a knee replacement or a pacemaker?

Essiac by nature wants to identify foreign matter in the body such as chemicals, toxins and waste stored in our digestive tact and other parts of the body.  The fact that your immune system could be at  peak performance when fueled with a daily maintenance of Essiac can potentially accelerate the body’s natural reaction to reject foreign implants.

We strongly suggest that if you are currently taking Essiac to stop before any surgery and advise your physicians of how long and how much your daily regime of Essiac consists of.  Ask your doctor when you should stop taking Essiac prior to surgery.

After surgery, or outpatient procedure to install any medical implants, we strongly urge you to consult with your physicians prior to resuming or even starting an Essiac regime.  Based on your individual physical condition and how your body has tolerated implants, your doctor may want you to wait as long as one year after replacement surgery to resume Essiac or not to take it all.  Do not resume taking Essiac without consulting with your physicians.
